More information about Slovenia

Considered one of the greenest countries in Europe, Slovenia is a natural jewel located between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea, and it can boast a variety of landscapes ranging from high mountains to seaside towns. Its capital, Ljubljana, provides a great example of sustainability and environmental responsibility, so in 2016 it was named as the Green Capital of Europe. Surrounded by parks, the best place to contemplate its beauty is from the tower of the castle, which rises to the top of the city offering a landscape of green and red, the latter because of the roofs of the houses. The city, which stands out for its architecture designed by Jože Plečnik, offers a wide variety of cultural, leisure and gastronomic activities.

Another essential visit on a trip to Slovenia is the city of Koper, an important port city that was originally an island. Located at the edge of the Adriatic Sea, this enclave is ideal for getting to know the country's marine products and being seduced by the Slovenian coast. Attractions in Slovenia include Son Bled, a splendid valley whose main attraction is a church that is in the middle of the lake; Postjna cave, considered one of the most touristic places in the country; Lake Bohinj, the largest of all the lakes in Slovenia; and Velika Planina, an immense mountainous area known for its ski slopes.
