Poland - Map

Located in the heart of the European continent, Poland is a country with a unique historical and cultural wealth. It was one of the most affected during the Second World War when some of its main cities such as Warsaw were totally destroyed due to the bombings. However, the struggle to recover the heritage and the beauty that characterizes the country meant that after the conflict, many places in the country were declared a World Heritage Site. The capital is one of them. Known for its many palaces and castles, Warsaw offers the traveller the best of Polish traditions fused with a touch of modernity. Krakow, however, was one of the few cities that did not suffer material data during the war, so its architecture remains virtually intact. However, the human losses were incalculable. Krakow’s Podgórze neighbourhood was converted into a ghetto where the Jews lived until many of them were sent to Auschwitz, one of the main concentration camps that today has become an unavoidable visit during a trip to Poland. Other places of interest are the Wieliczka salt mines, the Dunajec river descent, as well as the Tatra National Park.
