The Republic of Namibia is located in southwestern Africa and borders Angola to the north, Zambia to the northeast, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Botswana to the east and South Africa to the south and South. In the central plateau is the highest peak, Mount Brandberg with 2606 meters and the most important rivers are the Kunene and the Okavango in the north and the Orange in the south.
Two of the most emblematic deserts of the earth extend into this country and occupy two-thirds of the territory, the Kalahari to the east and the Namib to the west, giving this last name to the nation.Until the fifteenth century westerner did not arrive in this incredible country, although due to its desert territory it was not colonized until the end of the eighteenth century by the Dutch, later the British and finally the German up until after the First War World when it was occupied by South Africa until its independence in 1989.Its two million inhabitants make it the most sparsely populated country on the planet. There are 11 main ethnic groups. The Namibians believe in their nation and feel very proud of their country, one of the youngest democracies in the world. Its source of income is mainly concentrated in mining, mainly exploiting deposits of diamonds and uranium among other metals, as well as fishing and tourism. As the etymology of its name suggests, Namibia is a vast territory that translates from English as "place where there is nothing", probably because of its immense desolate and austere landscapes, virgin lands and endless horizons.
Namibia is largely desert but it is also savannah and scrubland, ocean and mountain. It is wild fauna, it is both sunny and starry sky, it is home to unique tribes, and it is the scene of surreal landscapes.Travelling to Namibia means visiting a different and unknown destination that guarantees a fun family holiday, a romantic trip for couples, an authentic experience for the most adventurous, an unrivalled and surreal scenery for lovers of photography and the most remote nature for ecotourists.
